Version 1.0 · Effective 5 October 2026 · Presto Solutions
In short: PrestoStay helps you find a room, sign up with your hostel, and pay and track your hostel fees. Your hostel provides your accommodation and sets its own rules and prices. Presto Solutions runs the platform and processes payments. Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account, paying the platform fee or using PrestoStay, you agree to them.

1. About these terms

  1. These terms apply to your use of PrestoStay, including the website at stay.prestoghana.com, tenant sign-in, the payment pages and the PrestoStay WhatsApp assistant (together, the "Service").
  2. The Service is operated by Presto Solutions ("Presto", "we", "us"), 50 3rd Road, Ablekuma, P.O. Box DS 55, Dansoman Estates, Accra, Ghana.
  3. "You" means the person using the Service, whether as a current tenant or as someone looking for accommodation. "Hostel" means the hostel, hall or property listed on PrestoStay where you rent, or want to rent, a room, and the people who manage it.
  4. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian is aware of and agrees to your use of it.

2. Our role and your hostel's role

  1. PrestoStay is a platform. We list hostels, show available rooms, keep your tenant records, and collect and pass on payments on behalf of your hostel.
  2. Your hostel is your accommodation provider. Your tenancy, the room, its condition, maintenance, security, prices, hostel rules, and any licence agreement or hostel terms are between you and your hostel. Hostel rules and agreements apply in addition to these terms.
  3. Your hostel decides room prices, the initial deposit or booking fee, which payments to approve, room changes and refunds. We apply the settings your hostel chooses on the platform.
  4. If these terms and your hostel's own agreement conflict on a matter between you and your hostel (such as rent, rules or refunds), your hostel's agreement applies to that matter.

3. Your account

  1. You must give accurate, complete and current information when you sign up, including your full name, phone number and emergency contact, and keep it up to date.
  2. We verify your phone number with a one-time code (OTP) sent by SMS. You may also set a PIN to sign in.
  3. Keep your codes and PIN private. Presto staff and your hostel will never ask for your PIN. Anyone who signs in with your code or PIN can see your records and make payments for you, and you are responsible for activity on your account that results from sharing them.
  4. Use one account per tenancy and do not open an account in someone else's name. If you think someone else has accessed your account, contact us straight away.

4. Platform fee

  1. To activate your account, you may be asked to pay a one-time PrestoStay platform fee. The amount is shown to you before you pay.
  2. The platform fee is paid to Presto, not to your hostel. It does not count towards your hostel fees and does not reduce your balance with your hostel.
  3. Until the platform fee is paid, you may not be able to use your account, choose a room, make hostel payments online or use the tenant features of the WhatsApp assistant.
  4. The platform fee is non-refundable once your account has been activated, except where it was charged in error, charged more than once, or where the law requires a refund.

5. Rooms and bookings

  1. Room availability and prices shown on PrestoStay come from your hostel and may change at any time. A room is not reserved for you until you have chosen it and paid the required initial deposit or booking fee.
  2. Your hostel's initial deposit is credited towards your hostel fees unless your hostel tells you otherwise. Renewal fees for a new academic period are set by your hostel.
  3. If you change your room, your previous room is released and may be taken by someone else. Your amount due may change to match the new room's price.
  4. Your hostel may move, reassign or refuse a room booking under its own rules, for example where information you gave was incorrect or fees are not paid.

6. Payments

  1. You can pay through PrestoStay by mobile money, card or bank transfer, where your hostel has enabled them. Payments are processed by Presto and our payment partners (mobile network operators, card processors and banks).
  2. Always pay through the payment link or page for your own account, so your payment is matched to you. Payments made any other way may not show on PrestoStay until your hostel records them.
  3. A payment counts towards your fees only once it is confirmed. Mobile money and card payments are usually confirmed within minutes. Bank transfers are confirmed when your hostel approves them (see section 7).
  4. Any transaction or processing charge is shown to you before you pay.
  5. Your hostel may choose to stop further payments once your confirmed and pending payments already cover the amount you owe, until it has reviewed the pending ones.
  6. If a payment fails or is reversed, it does not count towards your fees. If money left your account for a payment that failed, contact us with the details and we will investigate with our payment partners.

7. Bank transfers and receipts

  1. If you pay by bank transfer, you must submit a clear image of your bank receipt, together with the amount, the date of the transfer and the transaction reference, on the PrestoStay website or through the WhatsApp assistant.
  2. Bank payments stay "awaiting approval" until your hostel checks them against its bank account. Your hostel may approve or decline a payment and should give a reason when it declines.
  3. If a payment is declined, or you cannot see it on your account, you may submit the correct receipt again. Please check your payment status regularly.
  4. Submitting a false, altered or someone else's receipt, or the same receipt more than once, is fraud. We may suspend your account, cancel the payment record and inform your hostel and the authorities.

8. Your balance and records

  1. Your account shows the amount you owe, your confirmed and pending payments, and your balance. Please review it regularly and tell us or your hostel within 30 days if anything looks wrong.
  2. We and your hostel may correct errors in your records, such as a payment recorded twice or against the wrong tenant. Manual changes to balances are logged.
  3. Your hostel's confirmed records, together with Presto's payment records, are the official record of what you have paid.

9. Refunds

  1. Refunds of hostel fees, deposits and booking fees are decided by your hostel under its own refund policy and agreement with you.
  2. You can request a refund through PrestoStay. We pass your request to your hostel, which will contact you about it.
  3. Where a refund is approved, it is paid to the account or mobile money number you provide, or by the original payment method. Payment processing charges may not be refundable.
  4. If you were charged twice for the same payment, contact us and we will help you recover the duplicate.

10. WhatsApp assistant

  1. The PrestoStay WhatsApp assistant is an automated, AI-powered service. It can show your balance and payment status, send your payment link, take bank receipts, log complaints, help you find a room and resend your sign-in code.
  2. The assistant recognises you by the WhatsApp number you message from. Only message it from the number registered on your account, and keep your phone secure.
  3. The assistant can make mistakes. Your account on the PrestoStay website and your hostel's confirmed records are the official record. Before relying on anything important, such as an amount owed, check it on your account or with your hostel.
  4. The assistant will only send your sign-in code to the number it was issued to. Never forward your code to anyone.

11. Messages we send you

  1. By using the Service you agree that we and your hostel may contact you by SMS, WhatsApp, phone or email about your account, payments, bookings, your hostel and important notices.
  2. You can ask us to stop non-essential messages at any time. We will still send messages needed to run your account, such as sign-in codes and payment confirmations.

12. Acceptable use

You must not:

13. Support and complaints

  1. For help with your account or payments, message the PrestoStay WhatsApp assistant, call our support line on 0546407492, or email support@prestoghana.com.
  2. Complaints about your room or the hostel itself (maintenance, facilities, security, rules) are handled by your hostel. You can log them through PrestoStay and we will pass them on, but your hostel is responsible for resolving them.
  3. If you are unhappy with how we have handled something, contact us and we will aim to respond within 2 business days.

14. Privacy

  1. We collect and use your personal information, including your name, phone number, academic details, emergency contact, room and payment records, to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  2. We share your information with your hostel, and with our payment and messaging partners only as needed to provide the Service. We process it in line with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

15. Availability of the service

  1. We work to keep PrestoStay available at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems with services we rely on, such as mobile networks, SMS and WhatsApp providers, payment processors, banks, power or internet connectivity.
  2. We may update, change or stop features of the Service. We will give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.

16. Liability

  1. We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for payments we receive on your hostel's behalf until we pass them on to your hostel.
  2. We are not responsible for your hostel's acts or omissions, the condition, safety or availability of any accommodation, or disputes between you and your hostel, although we will help where we reasonably can.
  3. We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, by third-party services (such as networks, payment processors and banks), by information you gave us that was wrong, or by you sharing your code or PIN.
  4. Except where the law does not allow it, our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the platform fee you paid to Presto in the 12 months before the claim, plus any of your payments we received and failed to pass on to your hostel or return to you.
  5. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Ghanaian law that cannot be limited.

17. Suspension and closing your account

  1. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we suspect fraud or misuse, or if your hostel removes you as a tenant. Where appropriate we will tell you why.
  2. You can stop using PrestoStay at any time. Closing your account does not cancel amounts you owe your hostel or your agreement with it.
  3. We keep your payment and tenancy records for as long as needed for your hostel's records and as required by law.

18. Intellectual property

PrestoStay, including its software, design and content, belongs to Presto Solutions. You may use it only to manage your own accommodation and payments. Information you provide remains yours, and you allow us to use it to provide the Service.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will show the new version and its effective date on this page and, for significant changes, notify you by SMS, WhatsApp or on your account and may ask you to accept them again. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

20. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If it is not resolved within 30 days, either party may refer it to the courts of Ghana.
